One life. Two outcomes. A staff awareness campaign for East London NHS Foundation Trust

The challenge

The brief from East London NHS Foundation Trust was to create a campaign targeted towards staff to promote a talking first approach when engaging with patients. Suggesting they engage in conversation with patients before reverting to any intervention.

The approach

The creative approach needed to be bold as the poster would appear in very busy NHS environments so staff would only have a moment to digest any information. The campaign needed to stop staff in their tracks. The creative execution was loosely based around a playing card, using the inverted image to represent the medical intervention, shown in silhouette with the suggested ‘Talk First’ approach shown in full colour above. Key messaging ‘One life. Two outcomes.’ further reiterated the message at the heart of the campaign. The campaign was rolled out across City of London, Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Bedfordshire and Luton.
